11 things about me

  1. Thursday 28 April 2011: the day my beautiful daughter Lilia Rose was born marked the happiest day in my life.
  2. I was born in Bialystok, Poland where winters are cold, bleak and covered in snow.
  3. I currently live in Melbourne with my baby girl, my amazing fiancee B and part-time housemate Pixie, a small 12-year-old terrier cross we share with my mum. 
  4. When I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a writer and I still dream today.
  5. Six years ago, I graduated with a Postgraduate Degree in Journalism with distinction, two years before that with a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours in English).
  6. In the last decade, I have worked as a writer, editor and journalist although when people ask me what I do, I have never said: 'I'm a writer'. 
  7. I lived in London working in the corporate communications/publishing industry for three years, using the city as a base for travel throughout Europe. 
  8. I have taken 12 months away from a marketing and communications role in the not-for-profit sector to raise my baby girl.
  9. I love travel and have explored eastern and western Europe, South East Asia, South America and less so, the United States (but I would love to visit New York City).
  10. I'm passionate about life, writing, travel, photography, good food (eating out), and most of all, my new family of three.
  11. My daughter Lilia Rose inspired me to write again and to create this blog. I hope you enjoy reading about our journey and share your thoughts and feedback, too.
